The UA Select Program

The UA Select program, established in 2018, was designed to provide expanded baseball opportunities to those who want to play more than the 15-game Bear Cub season, but not commit to a full travel-baseball team. Our goal and focus is to expand youth baseball in Upper Arlington, while teaching our players the fundamentals of baseball and ensuring they enjoy their experience so they keep playing. Within the program we have teams beginning at 9U and go up to 14U. While we have expanded into the older age groups, our focus is to prepare the players for Middle School and High School baseball.

The Annual Season
Fall Ball: The Select season begins in August when the guys play a 14-16 game Fall Ball season. The Fall Ball season is relaxed and allows players to get some reps in while our new and younger players get a glimpse into more competitive baseball.

Winter Training: Following the conclusion of Fall Ball, we move indoors. The teams get 20 weeks of winter practices from November through March where we don't have to worry about the weather. Our staff and coaches work on fundamentals and growth throughout the winter. We also have weekly batting and pitching sessions throughout the winter months, where the program gets over 100,000 swings.

Spring Season: The spring season includes a combination of Bear Cub baseball and 3-5 weekend competitive local tournaments throughout Central Ohio. The fall and winter work is focused to position us to grow and succeed in these tournaments, and to continue our trend of bringing home banners.

Little League Tournament: We conclude it all with our entry into the Little League International Tournament as members of Ohio District 6. These tournaments are in June and July and are the final prize of the season.
